Y73/Gardens Area bottomfishing

That is the reason tht I do not fish on artifical reefs. It is tough to tell someone to move if you are on a tug or barge that the state put there. I NEVER aproach another crew fishing live bottom unless I know them. Talk about crowds, go to the Broad river in May, and you are lucky to get 20’ between boats on the turtle!

hotsauce-you are the tool . you are also a dumass. if you don’t understand the concept of personal space perhaps you should get in line at the quickie mart and stand so close to someone that you’re breathing on the back of their neck, you’ll get a quick education.

since you’re so opinionated on the subject you are obviously one of the offenders. why don’t you tell us how close you will anchor to a stranger.

how about posting a pic of your boat so the rest of us can pull anchor and leave when you show up.

are the publis reefs the only place you know how to catch a fish?

do you understand the concept of courtesy?

i’m sure you had a poor upbringing which explains you failure to understand personal space or courtesy. or are you from ohio?

why don’t you quit crowding and cornholing people and find some new spots to fish.

i would NEVER even think about fishing within 100’ of an anchored boat. if you can’t give someone 100’ in the whole ocean then YOU DON’T BELONG OUT THERE AND SHOULD TAKE UP ANOTHER HOBBY !!!

Hot sauce you do make a good point about noone owning the ocean or the reef, but I find it hard to believe you think it’s OK to just anchor up beside another boat without being polite about it. I was at 4KI last year on the spades, alone, when before I knew it there were 10-12 boats around us in a 20 yard circle. That was the time jerms caught the spade on the fly. I do not recall one person anchoring up with us that did not ask if it was ok to someone. Hell I got lines around my prop, some broke anchor and drifted almost into me. Now that was probably the best trip I had last year. The courtesy, comradery, and fellowship was enough to make the day, in spite of the crowd. That all goes a long way. If you just pile up on top of someone thinking you can because you have the right, you may end up with an invitaion to meet on the hill! Sounds to me like you would welcome that anyway. Go ahead and do that to me and I will probably oblige you. Have a nice day!

Once again, an alias has come here and thrown a bunch of y’all in the fish box. About now is when he’s getting cornholed by other aliases, who may well come here and catch one or two more fish and then come to the realization that the thread is fished out.

Good internet fishermen do what Courtland said and leave before anybody knew they were there. Some fishermen will keep on fishing until others see them bailing fish. Next thing you know it’s a cornholed thread, and no more fish…

Time to move on.

to think more about it, if you came up to me, said hey and asked if you could join in on the action, I wouldn’t have a problem with it. I enjoy company. Never had it happen from a stranger boat but do think it would be cool to meet people that way and just have a blast egging the others on. Hell if you’re in the black banks area or some of the large hardgrounds just fishing for blackfish it doesn’t matter where you are…You could be in a 1/2 mile diameter and be on the fish just like the next person. Problem with it is, i’m never on fish so if you try to cornhole me you’re just hurting yourself! lol:smiley:…

1 question…I remember fishing a few charters as a kid and the captain having 1/2 the boat (atleast) constantly fishing triple chicken rigs with just squid and wouldn’t let them target different species b/c it kept the bite on Is this a true fact? I always fish chicken rigs and target those species and haven’t actually just tried for grouper/snapper before. If you just target those species does it really affect the bite?

As I said befor Bad Habit, it wasn’t me out there. I wanted to give you a hard time b/c you were complaining that the reason you weren’t catching fish was b/c someone was 10’ away from you. If you read my first post I wasn’t condoning people that pull 10’ away from people they don’t know. I was simply pointing out that the boat next to you wasn’t the reason for you not catching fish.
I fish 80% inshore, I have a 2007 19’ Action Craft flats boat and a 2003 22’ pathfinder. If you ever want to compair fishing pictures I would be happy to.

hot sauce-
#1 your reading comprehension needs some work.

2 you’ll never know as much about fishing as i do.

#3 i think you’re a permanant level 2.
#4 all you can do is run off at the mouth. are you a prolific poser on his laptop with a different screen name?
#5 the pics are proof of your permanant level 2 status.

i’ve never said i wasn’t catching fish due to another boat, i don’t know what you’re talking about. how about a link o master of all fish.

You win! I wish you all tight lines!

Hey there PatientMaker good to here from you and hope to see you back out there this year. I had a good time on the pond that day and hope we all can get together out there again. I hope you marked that spot. That same spot has produced well everytime I’ve fished it (Cobia, BSB, Spades, & Spanish). Not sure what structure that is, but the fish love it.
Take Care!

hotsauce- it’s not about winning or losing. we all lose when we fight over resources instead of getting along.

i took a hard stance on this because many peeps think it’s perfectly ok to be lazy, not find their own spots, not figure out how to anchor or position on structure. they fish the bent rod pattern- they let someone else do all of the work and when they see someone catching fish they want in on the spot.

it is said that 10% of the fishermen catch 90% of the fish. those are the 10% that do all the work that it takes to be sucessful almost every time.

i’ve never minded teaching others- others taught me a lot over the years. one of the things i was taught was to respect anothers space. if someone waves you over, that’s great. if they don’t than you should find another spot.

surf fishermen have a constant battle with this. they get to the beach early, find the sweet spots, start catching fish and presto, 15 beachgoers will start crowding him, swimming all around his spot and starting trouble over someone fishing where they want to swim.

a little respect goes a long way, and respect does not start with calling others a giant tool, doosh or whatever.

hey bwulmer, that was a great example of southern hospitality. Id be happy to fish w/ Bug catcher, Mega bite, Jerms, Shadowgrass, Damoons, the man with the young boy, yourself, and anyone else that was there that day. Ill let you know the next time we are heading there!:sunglasses:

Congratulations guys, seriously; 3 pages and still friendly with the subject being cornholing. Maybe the result of the 11 page thread courtland, skinnee, myself, and others had a month ago. This subject sems to be getting more tolerable by the day. lol…
