Yak vs Canoe

I,ve got a 14’ poly Old Town canoe. I have seen yaks over at Pine and Otter Is. before fishing. Reading the HI lagoon post I wondered about canoe fishing there myself. Any advantage to the yak other than the wind effects? I know it would be fine in the lagoon or creeks but wondered about crossing the larger waters off Edisto or Hunting?

Stability? that would be my first concern in open water, then water in boat from waves. Make sure the weather is perfect. I wouldn’t advise it, but If you need a someone to go with email me.:smiley:
