that makes two of us bro. between every other offshore day gettin canceled and rarely being able to gig this year the wind is the worst ive seen as far as length and consistency
You’re right; I did like that. Looks like a fun trip. I haven’t been gigging since I was a kid. We had a pretty sophisticated setup back then - a gig and a Coleman lantern!

i do some and they work wonderfully… but the choice between shooting carp or flounder to me isnt even a question lol
Do you think dropping a mud minnow down in front of the flounder would get some bites? or are they too blinded by the lights?
maybe… i have heard they dont actively feed much at night but Im sure not a biologist on it.

Oh, they are eating. That’s why they often face into the current and lay up in the shallows. If you check the stomach contents you will find fresh prey. They may not eat in the lights because they know something isn’t right. They just usually stay still because camouflage is their first defense instinct. I have gotten one to eat in the daytime by shaking a minnow in front of his nose. I’m sure he saw me because he ran for deep water as soon as he ate it. It is fun when you see them eat!
