Yamaha 200 OX66 Tilt Trim Issue

Tilt trim motor not working. When engage the switch up and down hear a click from fuse box under the cowling. Motor does nothing. Motor almost all the way down. Loosened the screw to disengage the motor and motor went all the way down, but when try to lift up motor lifts about 2 inches and wont budge like hitting something. What could make this happen? What is wrong?

when manual screw is released, lift up, slow and steady, you cant jerk it up
if that doesnt work, then something is locking up inside
when did it work properly last??

trim tilt switch inside the cowling is probably the problem. use some w-d 40 to loosen the switch up. keep working the switch up and down until it starts working.

The relay can be accessed from behind the plastic panel. It is a two wire system. If you apply b+ to the green & b- to the blue it should go down & vise versa. If do this and dont get a response it is probably your motor or system is siezed. If it will go up and down using this method and you hear the relays click the relay assy is bad. Your 200 is a heavy motor and is hard to move up with the release valve open until it gets out of the trim range. Sounds normal

Worked Properly 3 weeks ago. Hoping it is the relay. Will report back after new relay is tried.

It is the trim motor. Any one had luck with after market motors or is OEM the only way to go?
