I got a 2008 yami 25hp two stroke problem and hoping some of you folks could help me before I take it to the shop… as soon as i crank the motor, it seems like it’s ideling rough n have to boost up the throttle to get it to run smoother but still minor rough, when i put in forward or reverse, it would only run when throttle is in half to full…if i let it go lower than half, it would start running rough until it cuts off… i’m not sure where to start… ( I will replace spark plugs tomorrow and replace the gas first (100/1 mix) to see where it would take me)
any advice would be great…thanks:smiley: or loved to receive advice over phone #817-3979 pete
Sounds like plugs to me too.
Also
Use only a factory Yami gas line assby. Fuel plugs on after market ones are not tight fitting and are apt to catch air. Gave me issues sort of like that once.
I have the exact same issue just come up w my 60hp yam 2stroke. Started just after trip to the shop where it got new plugs and crankcase oil. I am worried my fuel got contaminated. I don’t go out a lot. Or maybe the ethanol being used now is causing problems. New plugs are NGK. I an using sat bill fuel treatment now and will differ plugs too. Probably going to replace fuel line and bulb too. I read newer stuff on market is ethanol resistant. Will post if I find something working well.
i’m thinking bad gas is the reason, it might have water init because i went gigging, tired as hell and have to go to work in few hour so i did a getto wash with all my equipment still on the boat (including the 6 gallon gas tank…) i still haven’t have a chance to play with it yet cause of long work hours but will stop by Chris-V to pick up some ngk plugs tomorrow morning so have em ready Chris cause i’m comming.
