I have a 2005 Yamaha 50 that really does not have many hours on it at all. A friend of mine told me i definately needed to change the oil in the foot. He also said I should replace the water pump, even though it is working fine. Should i replace those things & is there something else i need to do maintenance wise? Thanks!!
I wouldn’t change a waterpump once a year unless i was running in alot of mud & sand. Did mine on my 200 & it had been 4yrs or so & it looked good as new. Foot oil is easy to do & do it about twice a year on both.

what he said and
change plugs yearly
do a carbon treatment yearly
If you run Seafoam every time you gas up, do you still need to do an annual carbon treatment?
yes, but I think seafoam every fuel up may be a bit overkill
Is that bad? What would you recommend, how often?
