Yamaha 75 two stroke loosing power

I have a Yamaha 75 two stroke that runs fine on low speed and idles fine. It when you really give it gas and get up to higher speeds in loses power and won’t go over about 10 mph. Again it runs fine when it slows down it just won’t go fast. It runs fast for about a minute and then dies down to a crawl. Any ideas on what this might be? Thanks

First thought is check fuel for water. Had a 90 Evinrude that did the same thing. I actually had water in gas and in the oil tank. Didn’t find it until it blew a cylinder.

fuel restriction some where or a fuel line sucking air some where.

also, make sure its pissing a good strong steady stream. it could be overheating and starting to seize up.

after it dies down, if you return it to idle, will it idle fine?

after you idle it for a minute, will then take off fine for another minute before it starts to die again?

Yes it is pissing fine. When it does down it will run fine on idle no problem. If I turn it off and wait a while, turn it back on it will run fast again for about a minute and then lose power again down to an idle

sounds like a fuel pump or some other type of fuel restriction.
when you first get on it and the carb bowls are full of fuel it runs fine, but then they empty and cant keep up

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

yeah, like chris said, sounds like fuel restriction or fuel pump.

does it miss or skip when going fast? or is it just a smooth slow down?

if its missing and skipping, it could be a coil thats going out.
