Yamaha carbs

Who has had a yamaha v6 and had carbs completely gone through recently?

Gonna have to turn it over to a professional, what’s worst case for all 3 and kits if needed?

Looking at actual cost from someone who’s had it done.

yamaha kits are around 150 each, if you take your time and pull them apart, bowls have o rings for the gaskets and give them a good soak and clean you may not need kits, I bought kits and didnt really need them, took them apart and soaked in berryman b12 carburetor cleaner, you can buy in a gallon at auto parts store, those carbs are pretty simple, just make sure you have an assortment of flat screwdrivers to get out the jets, hope this helps

Yeah, What he said… I bought a gallon of parts cleaner from AutoZone, comes with a basket to lower parts in… put all metal parts in can for about an hour, pulled out and rinsed with water hose, then blew out with air to dry. Put carbs back together and it runs great… Go to Wal-mart for parts cleaner though, same stuff at AutoZone, but considerabley cheaper…

A bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.

I wouldn’t rinse with water, just blow them out until dry. I wouldn’t want to put something I’m trying to keep out back on it.
