My trim tab anode fell off a 2005 Yamaha 150 4 stroke.
I have had people say it is easy to replace but it looks like I have to take the lower unit off to access the screw.
If it is easy, can someone walk me through it?
look for a rubber stopper above the anode on the upper half of the unit. If you pop the rubber stopper off you should see the top of the bolt. Some of them are 12mm. Just turn it counter-clockwise and it should come right off.
also. this is a great forum for yamaha users. not always awesome response times . . . but a bunch of info is already there, just use the search feature.

and theres more. if you have a concern on how something is removed, assembled, the order it may be assembled in, the Yamaha Outboard Parts lookup has blow up diagrams of every part on the motor.

also. cross reference part #'s when confused. sometimes Questions and answers from different years and models apply to the one you may be looking for.
BUT IF YOU ARENT SURE TAKE IT TO A DEALER.
ft worry.
Piece of cake, remove the rubber stopper above the bolt and unscrew it… I replaced mine after it just fell off. I put some thread-loc on the bolt threads so I wouldn’t lose one again.
I just ordered new trim tab zincs fro boatzincs.com
Yamaha zincs for F150 twins would cost $70
Boatzincs $35 including shipping!!
Intsallation as stated above.
Thanks,
