Had a long weekend of fishing and did the ignorant thing and didnt wash my boat, or flush the motor for 5 days. Now my Yamaha 50 wont pee, and when it does (barley) its pretty warm. I’m still kicking myself in the butt for being lazy.
Anyone have an idea or though of what it could be?

get some heavy mono like 250lb and puSH it up the pee hole(owww) and just push it as far as possible and yank it out and see if that helps it at all, 50% of the time there is just a little shell or mud clogging the flow and the mono will break it loose

Weed eater line works well also. I keep some one the boat just in case.
the air blow nozzle from an air compressor works the best
tried the fishing line, and air compressor and still nothing. im being told its the water pump, anyone have an estimate on one?

waterpump replacement is $229
hook it up to the water hose, and remove the t-stat, and start teh motor
if the pump is bad, the water wont come out the hole
if the pump is good water will come out
Just wondering, where is the tstat located on a yam?
T-stat is on upper left side of block, just did a water pump and t-stat on 150 yamaha 2 weeks ago took about 1/2 hour, if your mechanically inclined at all it should be a breeze. got pump kit and t-stat at seels on savanna hwy about 60.00 for everything. they have manuals for about 25.00.
