Yammy 150

I’ve got a Yammy 150 that is about 9 years old. Never had any problems, regular service, etc.

On plane engine shuts down won’t start back up.

Timing jumped, valves broken, lost oil pressure (oil level full).

My repair shop (nowhere near Charleston) has had it six weeks and still can’t figure out the problem.

I’ve been polite, friendly in person and on the phone. But every time I show up to check on the work they are never working on my boat.

I still don’t know if I need a power head or a whole new engine. I’ve run out of patience feeling like I’m the lowest priority customer.

I’m ready to give them a drop dead date to solve the problem or let me pay them for their trouble and move on to someone that knows what they are doing.

Any suggestions on how to deal with a shop that doesn’t have the staff to keep up with their customers?

More information: no oil pressure, cam seats at badly worn in the cylinder head.

Not trying to diagnose this problem as much as trying to determine how much time can you possibly spend trying to figure out what is wrong with a Yammy 150. They aren’t that big.

Six weeks is too long, period, right?
