Looking at new reels, got spooled a few last year w/ some big ones…Question how much line should I have for running kings, i can handle the big sharks and blues ect. but don’t ever seem to have enough line to get the big ones turnedIf the king turns I got him but getting spooled on the knock down is the downer of the downers…Any advise will help…
you dont need much more than 12 to 25 lb test… for the biggest ones…dont know if you were getting spooled by kings… we use tld 15s the guys in the tournaments use same size reels… 350 yds of 15lb…
20 lb test-400 yards.
Nothing but a “SMART-ELLIC”!
Same here w/ 20# and al least 300yds. Chase 'em down if you have to, but kings usually will run then stop and change direction, not spool you.
