Took my oldest youngen for a half a day hunt on a club and had a yote slip up at 30 ft. He was slipping out of the drive and unlucky for him 00 buck hit him where it counts! Also had this 9 point slip by us due to the thick cover and crossed on the next man. Big mistake for him too!
Congrats on the coyote, sounds like another exciting hunt, doing it the low country way.Better luck next time with the big bucks, they get very smart when they are pursued. I hope your buddy had a big buck tag and didn’t have to use a regular buck tag. Thanks for the report.
I had a very odd one…
I pull up to the shop, doors are usually open, grain bin fan running. A Coyote was 20 foot from the door. He trots about 50 foot turns and looks at me. I open the truck down lean out with the rifle and shoot him. He runs into the soy bean field. Third one I have killed at this building in a year.
Not that odd really. Probably looking for rodents feeding on the grain. Gotta go where the food is and anyone that has worked/lived on a farm knows there’s never a shortage of critters around a grain bin/silo. Coyotes are a lot of things but they’re also smart and adaptive.
God bless the “ignore” function.
