you don't mind if i.cut you off.do.you?

I’m gonna blow a gasket soon. This **** is ridiculous

I just cast right infront of them. When they give me lip about it I start casting at them. I don’t even yell back. I just stay quiet and start slinging jigheads straight at them. I once caught a guys tackle bag doing just that. He moved really quick when I reeled it in and launched it out into deep water. Probably a little excessive and not the right thing to do or the safest but there are more than enough docks in this place to go find your own.

Wow… Grillage, dynamite hole, middle grounds, sure kind of expected. A dock though? Not cool

Did they ask or just jump in?

First, Most, Biggest
I want to catch them all

Wait until they get settled in and lines out and then cast right over their lines! Reel back in fast and snag them both! Do that a couple of times and they should get the message!

I think they came in and cut you off just to see that lady on the bow[:0]

Thanks for asking. The issue here is if someone is fishing a tight spot like that, you don’t pull up and start fishing beside them, or anywhere within 3 casting lengths of their boat. At least. Fritz probably wanted his corks about where that boat pulled in. It is very bad manners, bad form, bad etiquette, bad karma and bad juju, and it really pizzes people off

If there's a spot you're wanting fish and there's someone on it when you get to it, the right thing to do is move on or get in behind them and wait your turn. In this case, the other boat simply pulled in front of them and cut them off. I know in a bass tournament that will get a big nasty bait with treble hooks slung at you. Unsat for sure.

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

He did ask if it was ok. And yes that is a guide.

imitation is the most sincere form of flattery…or something like that…at least he asked…and I’m guessing you said ok???

I know that spot!

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”.

Next time tell him no. A guide of all people should know better then to crowd people like that.

torn on this one since he asked if it was okay (yet then must’ve positioned himself in a way that cut you off). great that he asked but dumb how he then positioned. still possibly been a “blonde” moment on him. not to Monday-morning quarterback (hate those Monday-morning QB’s), but maybe next time as he starts positioning then say, “Yo!? Uh uh… you’re cutting me off boss. We can share the fish but if you’re there then I have no angle”.

there’s a spot I go to often where I either have it to myself or there are 2-3 other boats there. I’m always careful to ask if it’s cool and tell them exactly what I plan to do if okay. That said, love seeing the schmucks that don’t ask and park right over where you were catching them… only to cast towards you and catch nothing (I’ve had guides and non-guides do that… don’t matter which b/c if they do that then they’re an a**hole in my book).

Feel for ya Capt Fritz b/c I know you can’t really blow your top in front of the customers… me on the other hand, if my polite inquiries are obviously ignored, then I’ll get a little vocal and drive right over where they’re casting while reving the hell out of my engine (will not cast/throw anything… that’s when the law gets involved… I’d rather screw up the fishing there so no one catches fish if I can’t).

Reel Deal Charters…and this guy also blocks the ramp at Shem Creek too…

Fritz, whats your angle? did you say No or Yes? I would guess if you had the nutz to say NO the guide would have moved on. I’m guessing you either said nothing or said ok???

So you are going to blow a gasket? give us more on what was said. I feel pretty sure if you told the other guide please move on I’m fishing this spot he would have obliged. IF not and he stayed, I’m on your side to slam his identity and lack of being a guide and also I’d ride with you and be the strong arm of etiquette. If you would supply the diet pepsi.

You shouldn’t even ask to fish the same dock as someone else. Hell he could.see.me.could.see.me.from 500 yards away and shouldn’t have even come back there. I did let him know what he did was wrong though Fred.

Ok I see your point. He probably thought you were in his secret spot and didn’t belong their. Did he at least ease the anchor out instead of chunking it, further spooking the fish?

I’ll repeat my first comment… :smiley::smiley:
