Got home early due to Matthew and asked a simple question to my two girls - Do you wanna go hunt this evening? Duh that was a no brainer as if I didn’t already know. So I loaded up the truck with our gear, her bow, skeeter spray, and blind and headed to a promising spot in hellhole. Saw deer feeding at 4:30 pm and new it would be a good chance the deer would be on their feet. Saw one doe that came into our setup at 5 pm but the wind was completely opposite of the projected wind direction so we all know how that ended. With the wrong wind all we can do is hope…but I have seen and shot more deer with these 2 girls with the deer being dead down wind bow hunting I felt there was still hope. 6:48 pm a buck crosses at 60 yards down in the swamp and chased a doe then made a scrape and rub at 50 yards all down wind again. Then left hot on heels and outta sight. Hog came in at 7 pm and that was it. Fantastic hunt for an unplanned trip. Yep they got buck fever on this hunt!
