Your biggest fishing harvest ever.....

The Flounder Pounder thread got me thinking of this…I’d love to see or hear about the largest amount of fish you’ve ever harvested in a single fishing trip. Offshore or inshore doesn’t matter.

Let’s see em!!

Stir the pot! Fairly new to salt so will have to be freshwater…Used to do a lot of fishing for rainbow trout with dad in the mountains when I was young. He was friends with a farmer that had a nice size creek run through his property and where the stocking truck would dump the fish in. He’d give us a call whenever the stocking truck would go through. We’d typically catch just enough for a dinner. However, one weekend…Don’t remember exact numbers but one day we (brother included) took about 40 rainbows. Just saw those pictures recently (it happened over 30 years ago) and a ridiculous amount of fish in the pictures.

25 dolphin,we all agreed to never ever do that again…

90 BSB all 15 in or bigger, never have to worry about doing that again either.

neither of these trips had pics posted all over the interweb…

I went in with over 3 dozen FM one time. Forgot to take them out of the baitwell.

My Dad and I used to go to Apalachicola FL. in the fall for trout. We lived in Birmingham so seafood was a treat. We put 120 speckled trout in the freezer (it was the 80’s) in one day. We ate all of it.

More recently (9/11/11) went to the ledge and put 50# of filet in the freezer.

We caught about 165 or 156 (cant remember which), assorted keepers down in fl one year on the day after thanksgiving. Alot of white trout (no limit)and a limit of specks, sheeps and reds. No telling how many we threw back. We have been going every year for like 20 years in a row and that was the best i remember. Many other times finished w 100 plus keepers and at least that many throw backs. I dont think you can keep that many now though. I am probably wrong but i think now they have a 100 fish per boat per day limit. Or something thereof. jipride, these trips i speak of were in Apalachicola. that bay use to be slam full of fish. there is still a ton but not like i remember for the 1990’s. we always stay at bay city. cant wait for the trip this year.

I like that picture hairball.

A slight variation on the theme. I lived in the Tampa, Fla. area back in the Mid 70’s for about a year. They experienced a major Red Tide that year. Tampa Bay became a stinking soup bowl of dead rotting fish that would literally cover miles of beach. You could drive accross the causeway and your eyes would sting from the stench. Uncountable numers of dead carcassas of every species of game fish you could imagine, and it went on for months. The point being that man in his most selfish moments isn’t a blip on the radar screen of Mother nature. To acuse him of being anything even close to the destructive and restorative forces of nature is preposterous, naive, and vain.
