I need some info or at least some warnings about shrimping the white banks around white island, that is a pretty good haul in semi rough conditions from so. bull. Any info on what kind of luck any has had out there may give me an idea if I want to put that kind of time in on a spot that far out and with I know a hard sand bottom??? Ive always had better luck with the kind of bottom the poles go into a little easier… mud sand mix

I heard they are closing the bulls bay to shrimping this year. All Shrimpers must use the harbor. I saw a memo on it. When I find it, I will share. Until then, you probably want to avoid the bulls bay area.
The shrimp are all too small to catch right now anyway. It’s best to stay home for the first month at least.

Pluffdaddy’s right…everyone should avoid BB. The Bay is closed to shrimpers. I think it is some kind of deadly contaminant in the water, or something like that. You don’t want to take a chance on that!!! Guess we’ll all have to pack in like sardines at Crab Bank this year.

Not sure about Bull’s Bay, but couldn’t keep the red-legged boogers (med size) out of my net the other day off of James Island. We were throwing in about 7ft of water right off of the rip in search of menhaden. To throw insult on our search for the menhaden, terns started to swoop down and pluck even more shrimp from the top of the water. Ya’ll should kill them and no, there was no alcohol involved in the trip.

have seen this recently in the harbor too, especially right after the big rain… when they’re carrying one in their mouths, i think it means the gullet’s already packed full o’ scrimp!
