!st I want to say Thank You to SCDNR !!! We went on a Youth only draw hunt at Donnelly WMA yesterday AWESOME , Only 1 other hunt party was there and boy the ducks showed, I was jonesing so bad to shoot . I am only an avg Duck caller at best ,but to be able to Peep-Peep those sky-high birds , watch them circle a few times ,then cup in to the decoys . Doesn’t get any better . The boy ended up with 1 Blue wing teal , 3 Gadwalls , and a Merg. should have limited but I think the excitement overwhelmed the shooting ability at times. Why I waited all this time to apply for the Youth only Hunts is a mystery (only up to 15 yrs old).Oh well 1 is better than none. For those of you who do not get to do much more than 15 min, Hi flying pass shooting , I Highly recommend you sign the kids up next year . I am sure YOU will have a Great time also!!! Also signed up for the Youth only Deer hunts , and my son shot a nice 8pt at Cross Gen Station. Boy he has had a great Year. I am a member of a hunt club but these are nice breaks from routine seeing the same old spots. Thanks agin SCDNR and Please keep it up.
