good times right there!
maybe this is a rookie question, but hey . . .I am a rookie
In the video it seemed that you stayed with the porpoise pod to target the tuna. Is that the case or was that just coincidence?
When you see that many porpoise, is that a sign they are working bait? I figured they were just traveling thru.
Last trip (off charleston)we made we ran into 2 pods similar to the video. We never got any closer than 300 - 400 yards from the pod. Caught 1 wahoo in both locations
These were spinner dolphins, I don’t think they live in the Atlantic, smaller and more acrobatic than the bottlenose common around here. They follow the same bait that the yellowfins eat, so the fish were actually under the dolphin, we would troll right thru the school sometimes, I thought we might hook a dolphin by accident, pretty wild. But I am sure you could fish the same way here in the right circumstance

did something very similar to that a few years ago w/ a pod of pilot whales. it was slick glass calm and we followed them all day. ended up with over 20 yellowfins. this one was pushing 90#'s. and yes we dropped it right as the pic was taken hence the funny looks on our face.
when we were down in cabo one of the biggest things the captains look for is dolphin pods working bait because its almost guaranteed that the yft are with them. and where the yft’s are so are the big blue marlin
“ats a nice 'un 'ere”
