Many an outdoor jacket with oxidized, non functioning zippers.
Any one know a local zipper replacement person?

Any seamstress can do it,some Dry cleaners also do it.
If the Mrs.has a sewing machine and about 2hrs,then she could do it.

Look for “alterations” and “tailor” businesses. Zipper replacement is common, but not inexpensive. I had a pair of side zip snake boots that had plastic zippers. The zippers got kinked and crusted and impossible to operate. I took them to a shop and was quoted $50/zipper for brass zippers. I bought new boots for $125, and donated the used ones to Goodwill.

Not to steal your thread but, how do you keep these zippers from corroding? I just had to trash a soft-tackle bag because of crusty zippers and I tried o keep it clean.

I buy a white lithium grease from West marine, package says zipper and snap lubricant, it’s in the area with the replacement snap (hardware isle).
