Got on beach around 730am-1pm. Threw my first rod out with sabiki rig turned around to walk away and it takes off screaming. I tighten the drag down and its still going non stop. Tightened it down near all the way when i saw my line start to run out ( 200 yards of 30lb ). And bam lost whatever it was pulled the hook. Other then that the whiting bite was on fire. Large size whiting. Didnt feel like filleting a bunch again so i threw a bunch back. Could have prob caught my limit. I switched 2 of my rods from whitong to double drops and caught a few nice 20 inch bluefish. Bite died like it has all week around 11am. Had 2 shark rods out the whole time and of course no pick ups since i was watching them like a hawk today…
You know what I like about your reports is that you are honest:smiley: Keep it up Stevo with all the whiting and blues you have been catching you know the sharks are going to be slipping in there and eating them. It is just a matter of time and you will get your trophy. Your persistence will pay off. 100%. Thank you for the report and good luck Sir. I got to sit this weekend out. Family in town and my brothers son is graduating from the Citadel. He’s going into law enforcement and has a dream to be secret service down the road. While I’m sporting a coat and tie I will be thinking about you on the beach:frowning_face: Last outing for me just a couple of whiting, 1 blue, 2 small rays and a lone wolf 26 inch red. Can’t complain. Best wishes and take care Stevo.
