Hit the sand around 7am left around 12:30. Went to the far north tip and the winds were just tolerable. The forcast said 5-10mph but they were steady 10-15. Had to move from far north and come halfway back to the parking lot. Caught the usual whiting caught just enough for bait and switched over to throwing chunks on my bait rods. Of course i had 2 shark rods out again. Managed to get a decent sized atlantic sharpnose. Had a big run on my smaller bait rod throwing chunks on a 4/0 circle hook. He took about 100 yards out before i could even grab the rod. I tightened the drag and he was on for a second and then popped off. Felt like a big redfish but was more than likely a medium sized stingray. I think i might switch to using j hooks on my bait rods when throwing chunks.
Got a another daiwa bg8000 to add to my arsenal along with a okuma longitude 12ft heavy rod.
