11-13 to 11-16

I dont get down but 4-5 times a year. I always book Captain Ron Davis at least one day each trip. I’ll break down the week below.

Sunday, 11-13, windy and cold with Ron and my 2 boys. He put us on some reds and trout in the creeks off Steamboat landing. Thanks again Ron!! Really windy and cold, tough conditions, flats were not fishable.

Monday, tried the South, nothing.

Tuesday, went to the rocks, couple sharks and tiny BSB.

Today, 4KI. Bull reds were everywhere. Boated 12 in 3 hours. A few sharks as well. Cut mullet and shrimp were bait of choice on bottom rigs. There was zero wind and the ride out there was easy.

Hope this helps someone. heading home tomorrow dangit!

chlt-edisto,

Can you explain “the rocks” you refer to on Tuesday. Is that a honey hole near-shore you have? You don’t have to provide specifics. I’m just curious. I only make about 3-4 trips to Edisto per year and I’m always looking for new places to fish.

Rocks are off the beach about a mile from the water tower. You can get numbers from marina but the location is no secret and there are almost always boats out there in the fall. Bull reds are there in the fall, although have had nothing the last couple of times out and saw none caught. Wondering if they are gone already.

Caught 6 Bull Reds Sat 11/12. Had some “Honey Do” last weekend so I was not able to go out. Like FS said, you can get the numbers at the marina or take a look at any charts or fishing maps about 1 mile off front beach from the micro tower (Navionics App actually has it marked as a “fishing or diving hot spot”). You will see 2 “humps” one much larger than the other. I usually try the small one first, if nothing in 20 minutes, move over to the larger one. watch the tides for moving water and fish the down current side of the hump on the depth change. Don’ty know if they are still out there or not. It seems like the last couple of years that at the end of the “season” one day they are there and then…they’re gone.
