11/4 creek attempt

Fished a creek off PI from the bank today with the rising tide. Water was kind of murky, no breeze. Tried a variety of grubs on the bottom but no bumps. Not much surface activity either. Switched over to live fiddlers on a one hook rig with split shot. Was kept pretty busy with nibblers. Did manage four Sheeps head in the 10-12 inch range that were let go. For the first time I experienced an ongoing battle with Blue crabs over my fiddlers, telling me the Blue crabs were really hungry. Caught two keeper male crabs that got hung up on my circle hook. They are dinner tonight.

Not sure if you are using the circle hook with the fiddlers but I would recommend a small j hoot or something similar to a live bait hook. You will hook a lot more sheeps that way.

Appreciate the advice, but I was looking for some reds. Have caught quite a few on fiddlers. 2-3 fiddlers threaded on a 2/0 circle works pretty well.
