Hello All,
This is my first post to this board. I moved here a few months ago and it has taken me a bit to find the forums where there was some decent amount of activity. This looks to be the place.
Anyway…
One last trip for 2013. Planned on using some mud minnows on a jig head - that’s been working well lately for trout and reds. As you may know they “mud-minnow” guys was sick so no live bait for this trip. That was actually good because it forced me to use artificials for an entire trip. I usually fish the Chechessee and Colleton rivers since they are close to home.
Went out 2 hours before low tide. All fish were caught on the Trout Trick. Found them this day in 13-16 feet of water around docks. Caught about 15 total. Water temp about 55. Flat bottom according to the graph. When the tide was moving faster I did better with a 3/16 ounce unpainted jig head, as the current slacked off they seemed to prefer the 1/8. 90% of the hits were on the fall of the lure as you would expect.
Stayed in that spot for about an hour. Moved on to a few more spots that looked similar, but nothing was happening there. Went back to the same spot again (this is now 3 hours later) and again caught fish on the incoming tide.
About half were legal to keep. Thought my wife would like some fish for dinner.
Looking forward to seeing more people posting on this board. The more we share, the better we all get.
I hope everyone has a great 2014.
