Came down from Asheville and soaked lines for close to 20 hours. Never been so humbled in my life as far as fishing comes. Big fat gooseegg. Didn’t get off the shore, used live mud minnows on Carolina rigs, float slip rigs off the piers and popping corks. Went to Demetre, Colonial Lake, James Island County Park pier, Alberta Lake, whole lot of nothing, got some bites at Colonial Lake. I usually throw fresh shrimp. Might have to go back to that vs the mud minnows.

Welcome Mr. Charles,
Fresh shrimp first on a dropper/chicken rig, small hooks. Maybe cut those mudders in half, probably work better for general “bottom” fishing. Ever fish from the beach? There is some very good fishing right in the waves. Edisto,Sullivans, Folly, IOP all can be very productive, even right now. With surf temps tickling the 60degree mark, things should be coming alive.
Thanks guys I usually do get at least a whiting from the surf. I was exploring moreso this trip than trips past. Yeah I found a killer mud minnows hole in a tidal creek that never goes completely dry. Are eels any good for bait? I had a couple in the minnow trap but just threw them back in. They looked nasty. I’ll be back in a month.
When I fish the beach I hit up the north part of Folly or that section where the small jetties start. I’ve caught black drum, sea trout, but no reds or sharks yet.
