Well as some have heard with this crazy flooding, river runoff water has been working it’s way down the beach causing the most epic king mackerel bite this area has ever seen on the beach. We had 3 anglers limit with 70-80lb 3fish bags on Wed/Thurs and numerous anglers catching 2-4 during this run. I will be bombarding this post with pics as finish editing them!
Epic

Slammed it Duo:smiley: Which one of those guy’s is Izzy. Thats a salty looking crew:smiley: Was that Fish guy with y’all as well?
Izzydone is on left in second pic. Who is fishguy? Was alot of the regulars out there killing the fish, with a few new faces that I am pretty sure do not visit these forums.
No words to describe it, seeing those fish rocket into the air.
Thanks. i just wanted to put a face to the poster. Izzy has been helpful with advice to me on this forum and if I ever ran into him wanted to say hello. Fishguy looks allot like the fellow in the third pic, but I’m not sure thats him. He tears up the monster sharks. Nonetheless glad y’all are killing it. Thanks for your post, it’s neat to see those fish:smiley:
There is a good chance that is him then. That man catches the hell outta big sharks.
Fish guy is creed, and strange, james aka fish guys son is in pic with izzy. Im not pictured because i failed to land my king. Yep i was that guy.
Big big props to fishingdou he helped a lot to keep order during the chaos. 4 and 5 kings on at a time and just going through all the lines can get crazy. Often he would help others over fishing and he gaffed most of those fish, very good gaff man. I even used some of his gear and almost landed my first folly pier king. A small error by me and a green fish ended with my king wrapped in a piling. Dou and another guy Phillip tried for like 15 minutes to get my king off until it pulled the hooks straight and got off, thanks to both of you. Thanks to Izzy, Steve, Dou, the other Cory and some others for providing/sharing bait tanks to use, as well as some gear and food we all appreciate it. I had several people say they have never seen a pier where everyone worked together like that and a few different fishers that dont normally fish there said the same thing. Almost everyone is willinv to help and eduacate. I had a crash course with pier king fishing and learned a lot. I had more than a few people ask if dou got paid to do it or if he worked for the pier, he was helping that much with everyone.
I was out of slide clips and wire rigs 1 trip and my anchor was giving me problems, basically my day was over. I borrowed a clip from izzy, a rig from Fletcher, and slid my bait out on dous anchor, it was the hot spot/anchor at that time. He can cast farther and the extra distance seemed to make a difference that day. Between my anchor issues and shorter cast i was way to close in and that greatly deminished my chances. I probably wouldnt of got a bite if i used my anchor line that day. Dou caught a king and then started helping people. Moments later Fish guy pops his anchor line and the tip of his rod flys in the water when casting so dou tells him to drop on his anchor and bam fishguy gets a king. I was already wanting to slide my bait out on dous anch
I am most certainly not fishguy’s son

Yep runbaby that’s me, I like to spend valuable father-son time on the pier
James just needs to accept his adopted status.
