I didnt have to work and got done with the to do list early so it was time to hit the beach. Temps mid 70s to low 80s and wind mid 20s to 30s, tide was falling close to low, low and the early incoming, time was 2ish to 8ish pm, location my favorite beach. I caught hell yaking 2 baits out, 1 150ish the other 250ish. I had a hit and short run on the 250ish on a secret bait. The 150ish was a stingray half that my man on the beach got me with heavy drag to stop the bow in the line from wind and waves, from 100 to 150 was the hardest ive ever had to paddle. Power stroking and breathing every stroke until i got tight numb arms and my line still got a seroius bow in it. Next drop i dropped up the beach to compensate for wind and waves and went with lite drag but the bow got heavy at 250 and i dropped. I would of preffered 350 and 500yds but it was not possible today. The waves were 6 inches in the surf and 4 ft after 100yds out breaking every wave super stacked up. Fished some sabikis on bait rods with cut mullet and caught a small ray and 20 plus decent whiting. Missed a couple hits on the bigger mullet chunk rod. It was impossible to see any hits on the small rods and all you could feel was more weight when the fish were on. There were a ton of weeds and had my bait rod double over and peel drag to find out it was a 6ft clump of weeds. The whiting bite was on fire for avout 30 minutes around 5ish, i had a sabiki with 3 hooks and caught 3 whitnings at a time. Just before that noth my baot rods hooked whitings twice in a row and i was thinking they must be schooling by and 3 at a time confirmed.
I had a lot of pictures but i cant post them all are under 5mb so i sonr know why i cant post rhem. I keep getting a error entity is to large.
Forgot to add my bait wqs sna5ched on the hit i got and it was a big boy bait. So minimum a 5ftr
Very good report 40. I’m glad you got out and was able to put together a good dry run for the season. If history repeats itself, and I have no doubt it will. You are in store for an incredible season and some truly monster fish. Sick it to um Sir and best of luck:smiley:
