OUR GOVERNMENT HAS BECOME THE ENEMY OF FREEDOM.

Ugghh. There’s good shark bait.

I can understand how ignorant fisherman discriminate over such a fine fish (presumably the same people who also wont kill a spottail). Fresh bluefish is great tablefare, and I suggest you try it prior to filling your crabtraps.

Great report and discussion! Love it! Keep it up guys!

Eat the cheeks and let the crabs have the rest.

Man I learned my lesson with those giant blues a long time ago. You could smell it the second you cut them open. I can’t imagine eating one. The little ones are good though, and I have eaten plenty of them.

Thats a great fighting fish on light tackle. As far as tablefare, eat the smaller ones (snapper blues). The bigger ones are very oily. (Choppers). Stilla fun fish regardless.

Smoke it

Nice blue!

How long did it take you to get him in the boat?

I heard the best way to eat blues is,

*Take fish (whole) and nail it to a cedar shingle

*Smoke at low heat (220) for 3-3 1/2 hrs

*Throw fish away and eat the shingle

J.K. Nice fish

Any man that doesn’t know how to catch a fish, shouldn’t disgrace a fish, by catching it.

Reybann, thats a good one.

Bluefish is not bad when cooked fresh. Bluefish is one of the few fish that deteriorates when frozen and I love them when cooked in the oven.

I grew up on the Chesapeake and we would catch big blues fishing for stripped bass. They are oily. Smoking them is definitely the best option. Not the best but still good occasional table fare.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.
