5/27 No People + Fish

Soooo… I think a found a quiet spot. At 12:30 the closest folks were on the shrimpin’ boats! NICE!

Day started with Whiting and small Black Drum. As the trough
I found started to show, Whiting got bigger, Blacks stayed the same  and a couple of Reds showed up. Probably caught 30 Black drum from 8"-13". Over all a very good day for a new to me spot. During the 1.2 mile hike back, tide was out, noted 4-5 potentially good spots to try NEXT trip.

And remember…close, close, close. Sometimes REALLY close.

you post quality information in here. Thank you

great job D! I am always in awe of how successful your days are haha.

My good days are like 7-12 fish mostly whiting… this guy pulls in 2.5 dozen of black drum plus whiting haha.

I need to make that hike myself. Or at least, I saw some spots I need to get to yesterday while playing golf at Wild Dunes. Not sure where you were at here.

Thanks peapod and papa, in perspective we were on the beach for almost 10hrs. And those little Black drum were everywhere. Went thru over 2 lbs of shrimp, left them bitting. Had cut bait out all day also yielding only a couple small rays and baby sharks.

Nice report Mr parker… guess its time to hike further now to get a good spot and away from the crowd

I’m with Mr. Peapod, your posts are always great and informative. They have taught me a ton and I appreciate them, thank you. Your new spot looks nice and should be good come fall. Thats a hell of a day, good work Mr. Parker. What day did you fish, Friday ?

Yes Pete Friday. New work schedule, four 10’s, off every Friday :stuck_out_tongue:. Might as well spend that extra time fishing. Kinda feel sorry for those poor Drum [:I].

I think most work weeks should be four tens haha. I worked a week like that once and it was awesome. Loved having every Friday off to fish or play golf haha

Nice day David. I love catching Puppy Drum in the surf as they say in N.C. Looks like it was worth the hike.
