I got out with Grace on Friday for some surf fishing. NE winds at 10-15 made it tough for bait to stick with 5oz of lead. We were targeting reds, and slinging the big rods for sharks with cut bonito. Allot of little fish picking at the the big chunks of bonito. The day was slow but not dead. We ended up catching a few blues, a couple of rays, and one 25 inch red. The red hit in the trough when the water rolled in on cut blue fish. I was hoping for a nice shark, but no luck. Maybe next time.
Nice looking Red. That is one good looking walkway to the beach.
Nice catch but I bet you wish it was 2 inches shorter.
Nice red and very pretty pictures man. Looks like a good spot for fishing and just for leisure. Still looking for my first red of the year. Hopefully later this week when the rain is gone and water is back to normal
Nice picture of that walkway . Nice Red also .

Thank you for your replies everyone. Jack you told me not to give up on NE winds, that sometimes they will produce fish, you were right. Mr. Parker had a very good day on the same day, and landed allot of fish. At this point, I have but one certainty. Patterns are meant to be broken. Every time I think I have “figured things out” Mother Nature reminds me of just how little I know about fishing. She gives us what she wants, when she wants, and that we must accept.(sound familiar ). All my patterns have been debunked. Full moon-sometimes produce. Flat water-sometimes produce. NE winds-sometimes produce. Perfect conditions-a goose egg. Geez, it’s all kind of confusing. All I know now is, I don’t [:I]
