Friday- got off work, threw cast net, took 5doz live brown shrimp to regular spot. first cast 18" trout, then 18" red, then a little trout, then 16" trout. water got real murky on the mid-rise and I left after 30 mins. lately the trout and ladyfish have been dominating high tide cycles, plenty of reds on lower half of tide, but only a few flounder around my spots this year. pinfish and little blues make it harder to fish live shrimp after early june, but given their availability (and price), I’ve been throwing back all the mudminnows and mullet… and we have had a few creek shrimp appetizers before fish dinners lately too. They’ll be gone in a month, and then i’ll go back to using the smallest mullet I can find until the white shrimp crop grows up.
sunset pic from Friday in the driveway after baked redfish dinner:
Sunday morning went with pregnant wife and kid v2.25 to the beach in the aluminum yacht, met spmirhs and family on “the reef”. we put the boats on the river side of the inlet, broke out the rest of friday’s frozen shrimp, and proceeded to catch lots of small whiting and stingrays, to the amazement of the 1-3yr olds who had lots of fun watching them in a bucket and then turning them loose. water is alive with “bait”- silversides, tiny mullet, 6" mullet, 12" mullet, menhaden, crabs, jellyballs… we kept one 12" whiting that got added to the trout fillets and given to grandma last night before she made us an awesome steak dinner. great (HOT) weekend.
going to try kickstarting a new internet trend that I call “dparkering”:

Edit: I did NOT put stingrays in a bucket for the kids to play with.
HEY NO FAIR! THERE AINT NO PEOPLE AROUND YOU! I have been trying to find a “quiet” surf spot, that is kinda close, for awhile. Were you on the moon? Looks nice and peaceful…jealouse I am.

Oh boy, is this going to be as popular as “Tebowing?”

While we are on the topic of dparkering, here’s a few snaps from Morris on Saturday evening. The bent rod is, unfortunately, a 30-50 pound ray that decided to suck to the bottom. All we could see was the tip of the tail, never actually got eyes on the ray. The tip of the tail looked like a stick, took about 10 seconds for it to register as part of the catch.

seriously, I haven’t found a spot to myself since April haha. Mostly other fishers, not sure if local or what, but also a lot of people who decide to set up their family near me and have their kids swim with my bait and hooks… people are smart
There were 4 other family groups within 150 yards of us, 3 of them with a rod out. I’m afraid there’s no place left in CHS like the one we’re searching for!
Btshipp, the dog’s face says it all!
150 yards! Thats my kinda spacing! Had folks this past weekend go swimming 10’-20’ from my bait…on both sides!

I was on the county park end of folly and had 4 people literally swim right through my lines. Well drift I should say the current was pulling them there wasn’t much swimming going on.
