6 years old first barracuda!

Broke the coffee pot first thing this morning without even getting the first cup out of it. Should have known it was gonna be a bad day. Left out of live oak at 7 am and looking for bait. Almost an hour and not one school of pogies in sight. Decided to skip 'hoos instead as a backup rather than waste more time. Hit edisto 60 around 8:30 and fishing was slow. A barracuda here and there, almost always by the bouy. NO KINGS. My wife caught a nice spanish on the #2 planer. 6 year old Raelean did get her first offshore fish!, a barracuda that was around 10 lbs. It was her first trip on the big pond! Had about 15 or so runs, left the edisto 60 around 1, and went to the 40 in search of spanish. Found them schooling everywhere, but wouldn’t touch a clarks spoon, a gothca plug, a hopkins, or anything else for that matter. Managed one spanish that was a whopping 13 1/3 inches and that was after trolling around them, casting to them, etc. Gave up and headed in. Threw the hub on the trailer on the way home at the corner of toogoodoo and 174. Towed home around 7. Short trip became a long day. Hope to get the trailer fixed and give it another shot. Guess I’ll stay in charleston waters, I know where to find the fish there! Had a good time with my dad, wife, and the kid and what more could you ask for?
