$60 dollar 100 qt cooler keeps ice for 2 days.

Igloo 100 qt cooler from Kmart.Cost $60 dollars. We put at 7am Yesterday 2 bags of ice in the cooler.I just came back and found the big bag 3/4 full and the little bag half full. They advertise 5 day cooler.

Maybe five days in an air conditioned house.

Congratulations, now put your trailers landing gear on top of it to drain the boat. I do that with my yeti.[:I]

5 days if you pack it exactly right, with good ice. I’ve found the ice in Chuck town to be lacking, small, full of air.

Add one or two 10# blocks in the center, put in cold drinks, pack around everything with quality cube ice, dont drain the water - it will last 5 days in a coleman or igloo.

Been using that Igloo 5 day cooler for many years.

Have left it outside before after an offshore trip and the next afternoon there is still 1/2 bag of ice in there.

Granted it won’t hold it for more than 2 days but I still don’t see the value in pulling the trigger on a $300+ yeti for what I need.

My father who runs to the Bahamas from Jupiter has one and they need to keep ice for 3/4 days so in that case I see the value in the Yeti…

I think the Igloo coolers are fine. I bought three of the big ones about 15 years ago at Sams ā€œthey were 40.00ā€ they still look almost new and keep ice and product cold for days. I usually use frozen bottles and ice when fishing and it most definitely helps to keep them cold. Three weeks ago I was preparing some Barbeque for the Dragon Boat Race ,took the butts out of freezer put them in an Igloo on Monday for sure I would be smokin on Wed. NOTTA they were still frozen solid so left the cooler open and smoked on Friday.

Freeze water in gallon milk jugs, bust it up with a hammer, cut out the bottom and dump it in the cooler. Best ice you’ll ever get and its free.

Try buying a plastic mortor tub at lowes for 6$ fits perfect on the shelf of a uprite freezer and will make a 100# block of ice that will last a week in that igloo! I have an old freezer in my barn and keep 4 in it at all times, Never buy ice!

I’ve got the same coolers from sam’s club.bought them about 4 years ago.
be careful posting about buying stuff from kmart or walmart.the great cf.com police will scold you…[like anybody gives a crap about what they think]

This!

One of many things I have learned from Vinman.

If you do not have a Yeti in your boat you cannot catch fish.

fishwish just stating the truth
stonoman I hope that wasn’t meant for me…

The less ice the better I say. I like to keep my catch at room temperature. It helps preserve that fishy flavor…

Stonoman,
I am in need of ice, just sick of dumping money into melted water in the bottom of my cooler.
Please send me your address so I can stop by and empty your ice maker.
Thanks,

Stono- the 70 quart 5 day Coleman at the forbidden wally world is only $35… not sure how much 100qt is but can’t be much more. Unless your camping not really sure what somebody would need ice for 5 days? For me at least 2 days is plenty
