Yeah that boat is a Conquest not a CC and it is definitly a sick ride. The hard top is load bearing and made to be fitted with tower non skid and all. I dont see that boat going too much longer without one. Yo Tim i talked to your pops and he said Chuck was whining about the radar, hit me up and we’ll get that fixed.
300??? come on give the boys some credit. Watch the video, that fish is easily over 450 all day long. you a pic never does a fish justice.
Congrats on the big boy guys, wish i coulda been there

Nice!!! I can’t wait to get back to some good blue water fishing, too. Regardless of size, I’d just love to snag into a good Marlin like that. It’d be my first, and as long as it’s legal, it’s going home to the little wife. For my first billfish, the conservationists would have to just keep their pink pantys in a wad, sorry. “LOL JK,” says my 11 year old.

Okay, okay, okay. It seems that there has been some debate about the boat, and as requested, here are some pictures of the beautiful outboard lady that caught the first Marlin off of SC this year.
Good job to Timothy, Charlie and the Boys. Proud of ya’ll.

I want to know what your on if thats over 450 all day? Can I please please get some?
Second the be careful on the wiring job good way for someone to get seriously hurt.
According to the boys who caught the fish it was most definitely longer than the blue marlin we caught last year on that same boat which measured 112 inches. They said it was probably around 120inches which according to this weight length conversion chart
http://www.daybreakfishing.com/fishweight.html#billfish%20weight
would put the fish at approx 550lbs. Even if it was the same size as the fish we caught last year, which they said it was “clearly larger”, the fish would have been estimated at 440. thats why i said “450 all day long”
Watch that video again, id say 120 inches is believeable

yeah id say its every bit of that. i saw the state record fish and this is not much shorter. not as fat, but definatly a sea monster. there just jelous that they didnt catch it. i would be willing to bet that half the people that said something have never caught a blue marlin, or maybe never even seen one. i would say that thing is 650+ all day long!

No doubt that it’s a good fish, but c’mon tsmalls…really 650??? I’d say thats a little far fetched. Im sure if this thread gets longer it will be the new state record!!
There is no way that fish is 650. I am good friends and have fished with all those guys, I was actually supposed to be on the boat that day but had to work. They told me 400lbs. The pics and video are decieving is what the said and they have never lied to me. Now where ugly duck got 650 from i dont know but I could see how 400 could get to 650 saturday night in dockside haha. Congrats fellas wish i would have been there.

Originally posted by uglyduckThe first Blue Marlin off SC caught this year. Onboard the newest addition to our fleet. Caught by Jeremy Parson. Capt. Charlie Marrow at the helm. The 30’ Boston Whaler Express (Plumber’s Wet Dream) proved that outboards can catch Marlin. It is owned by Timothy Redd. This is the second one in a year.
Estimated between 600-650 pounds. Was caught 8 miles off of Charleston Bump in 1300 feet of water. The lure was a Black Bart Big Rock Plunger Rainbow color. Caught on a Penn International 50. Fought it for two and a half hours stand up, and it apparently got hit by a shark close to the dorsal fin. They leadered the fish, and on it’s last dive, the swivel separated.</font id=“size2”></font id=“red”>
The guys just went out trying to catch Yellow Fin Tuna.Good job guys.

But then he says 6 guys couldnt get it through the transom door. So did the swivel seperate or did you guys try to pull it in the boat. And then the swivel seperated?
Im really confused?
According to the guys on the boat the swivel seperated when it made the last dive right after the video cuts. Tim the owner of the boat/guy on the leader told me that they never tried to bring it onboard and would have never tried to bring it on board. They simply wanted their black bart back but the fish decided that he’d take it for a souvenir

These two fish were 300 - 350 both right around 114"
Good job! That is a nice fish however you look at it!
Like Kemp and Neal said I have fished will all of these guys and fished on this boat before. Also the swivel didnt seperate. the double line broke after 2.5+ hours of fighting the fish with the drag to the bolt. The camera died shortly after the first time they got the leader. They got much better looks at the fish later on. As far as the weight goes who cares it was a heck of a fish cought in feb.
Miss Magnolia, those are some nice fish. I still think this fish is 300. I’ve seen 600-700# blues and this thing can’t compare.
