Is that a chicken with twin birdies in that pic?

Some of you know how much I used to say on this forum and how quickly I can type words on the screen or text them on a phone. There just aren’t enough words to explain all this project has cost me and how much others have given towards it. My wife especially has had to put up with a lot. When asked how long something would take me to do, it almost always ended up being doubled or even tripled. It was an honest statement when I made it, but then it became a lie. It takes so much patience to do anything like we have, and I don’t think I could have finished this boat without my wife. I have just wanted us to have something nice all this time. I wanted to build something that took less maintenance and gave us more time on the water. I have paid for it on the front end though. There aren’t any short cuts in life. I have tried, but there aren’t. You pay now or later. Good stuff isn’t cheap or fast. Cheap stuff isn’t fast or good.

If I told some of the stories of what’s happened to this boat and where it has been, you would be shocked. I would not do this again now that I have seen what it took. I don’t regret it; I just wouldn’t do it again. I have learned a lot, but it has cost me a lot as well. “Money?” you ask? No. It is easy to get more money if you work hard. It is impossible to get more time on this earth though. The time spent on this project bothers me to this day. I reached a point where I had no choice but to keep going. It got more and more painful. The pain is starting to go away now that the boat has been in the water though. Physical, mental, and emotional pain has been real with this thing folks. It wasn’t easy, and I have had a lot more help than you might think. Many of the biggest helpers want no public recognition, so that’s why you won’t see or hear me telling other people about what they have done for me. I know who my real friends are after all this though.

3 years ago, my friend Edisto-Fisher and I fished together on the ocean for the last time. Around the time I had first decided to make

Great story.

Send lawyers, guns, and money - The poop has hit the fan.

That is one sweet boat for sure! Congrats on a great trip.

Fantastic read Phin. You’ll appreciate that boat for as long as you own it along with the experience and knowledge you gained putting it together. Glad to see you back on the water in that project.

You going to take it to any of those Mako Funaments?

Congrats on a job exceptionally done.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Boat looks awesome. Definitely something to be very proud of.

Congrats. I think in a year you will tend to forget all the hardships, and more so as time goes by. And what a boat… one of a kind, full of character. I’ll keep an eye out for it when I’m at Edisto and if I see ya I’ll swing by and say hello.

Congratulations on a job well done.
I’m gonna miss the “build thread” but at the same time look forward to seeing the decks of that thing slimed up!
She truly is “One of a Kind” and a beautiful rig.
Thanks for taking us all along for the ride.

I’m pretty sure that is your best story yet. Nice work. That’s not a project that I could imagine doing myself, but I bet it feels good to fish out of a boat that your rebuilt. Congrats!

Glad to see E.F. back out there. Great job and great looking ride. Putting Phin with E.F. and chops on a trip together is not fair to the fish!

Man, what an ugly boat. You should have kept the brownish tan and white color scheme.

Nice fish though,

EF is good people, glad to see you back on the water, not so sure the fish are happy…lol
