Its been a while since I went out fishing… So today it was indeed fun and big changes in folly beach. The interesting part is first time I ever got a broken hook fighting over for a mystery fish. I put a background music in the video so that my cursing will not be heard lol…

Wow I haven’t broken a hook yet but I’ve had them straighten out on me. Hopefully it wada big redfish and there moving in allready.
This mystery fish also broke my sand spike as you can see in the video i was pointing to my sand spike without the tube as it was separated while trying to pull my reel. I might be back next saturday.
Good video Werson. At least you still got your rod:smiley: Took some pressure to break your sand spike and hook. Could be your drag to tight or a reel issue. Some good hooks are Owner,Gamakatsu and Daiichi. We will see you soon. I think Dparker needs to wet a line:smiley:

I have had many hook malfunctions over the years, both in salt and fresh water. Usually hooks get straightened occasionally they will break. Main reason I change my hooks every trip.
Must have hooked a big Tarpon or Tuna! 
After watching the video again, looks like you had 2 Whiting on. One got taken by a Shark.
hello david havent seen you in a while…I was about to ask folks here how often they change hook and since you mentioned that you change yours every trip I might as well do the same moving forward…
With regards to your guess I might send the video to FBI for forensic investigation
