A few redfish...

Fished yesterday and back on June 7…only twice in two weeks. Gotta quit my day job…seriously cutting into fishing time. Will be working the Governor’s Cup Carolina Billfish Classic this weekend at Toler’s Cove…so no fishing again!

Caught 11 bass back on June 7…including this “spot-less” spot-tail my friend Billy from Columbia caught. We managed several trout and one flounder for the table also. Mostly mud minnows and a couple of trout on artificials.

Yesterday, I fished my son Ryan, one of Beaufort’s city firefighters, and my neighbor Kyle, 13, from across the street. Kyle had never caught a redfish. We managed 15 reds to 28.5 inches and one undersized flounder on the fall, but nary a trout. Brought a few reds home for Kyle to clean for his family. I think he may be “hooked” more than the spottails! Everything came on mud minnows.

You sure know how to put reds in the boat, bud.

I hope the little guy getting up close & personal with the Red in the 4th photo lived to tell about his hug today

Living vicariously through your boats and stories at the moment while I build a garage to house one…

Nicely done I would say that is a great day on the water.

Nice catch!
