A few Reds today

Went and tried to catch some shrimp this morning and only managed a few small ones hugging the bank. Then went over to a PI creek and fished them as cut bait. Hooked up with what I suspect was a large stingray (from the way it ran) that broke off. Caught a smaller ray on shrimp too. Then I switched over to live fiddler crabs and caught and released two 26" twins, pictured here is the second one.

Stated to think this was going to be an over slot kind of day but later on during the incoming tide I picked up this 18" that my wife is frying up as I type this post.

I did notice that the Reds are now feeding on the juvenile mullet that are hugging the banks. From watching them they seem to choose the small bays in the banks as their favorite ambush points. Next time I come down I will be bringing my small cast net and bait bucket and try some live finger mullet.

Today I noticed an unusual amount of activity with the sea turtles surfacing in the area I was fishing and then discovered the reason; jellyfish balls are coming into the creeks now.
