I know. Nor have I. The funny thing is, you could reverse any situation about either school, and most fans would react like the ones they are critics of. If Clemson loses Saturday, I’ll still be happy. If they win, I’ll be a little happier. Life goes on.

This year the ACC obviously has very good argument for the best conference. But I dont like using the bowl games as that measuring stick. Especially now that some teams have player sitting out. And bowl games are tricky because of the activities building up to the game. Some teams respond well others dont. I heard about an Iowa player that had never been to the beach(it wasnt this year), but he got burnt so bad it was painful to play the game. So look at the season as a whole and the ACC still has a real argument for best conference this year.

I agree. But if you just looked at the season then the B1G would be the top conference. I have a hard time saying they are on top with their bowl performances. I think the ACC is the most complete for the season and bowl performance over others. But bottom line, I really don’t give a chit what everybody else in the ACC do outside of Clemson.

I understand about not caring about the rest of the conference, but it does matter. If clemson was in the AAC with 1 lose, they would have no shot at the playoffs. So in that respect the rest of the conference does matter.

That’s a terrible point about the AAC. The power 5 will always be better than the group of 5. If all Power 5 conferences are down, then the group of 5 will just look even worse. Saying that Clemson might as well be in the AAC if you don’t pull for the ACC is lame.

chill out. Thats not what I’m saying at all. Only that if your conference as a whole is weak, then it is hard for your team to shine on the national stage.
