Has anyone on here fished at the lighthouse off folly. I usually fish on Sullivans but am looking for a different spot for this weekend. If so hows the fishing and whats the best bait to use? also how far out are you going? thanks
I fish on that side alot. Haven’t been in over a month so cant speak to the fishing right now, but usually its does well for me. Fresh cut shrimp is the best all around bait, can try strips of cut mullet as well. Waid about knee deep and cast right from the beach.
Thanks for the advice. I usually fish Ft moultrie but been a little slow here lately. Well i will be giving it a try this weekend. Thanks again
I fished there yesterday and the day before. Small pinfish clean your hooks literally as soon as they hit the water. You also have to watch out for snags (I believe is its clusters of oysters?). Did hook one ray that swam almost all the way to Morris Island on its first run!
Fished there last night and caught a pompano and 13in black drum, and then moved closer toward the cul-de-sac and caught a 20in trout and a 15in whiting, fishing was slow but weather was great.
17ft Key west
Fished with my oldest son yesterday from the cul de sac almost to the end set of rocks, fished about 4 hours from dead low up, caught two small whiting. Had a few bites we never got a hook into, using shrimp.
Saw lots of bait moving, highlight of the day was seeing a 5-6’ shark chasing bait right up to the beach, then it swam right by us in waist deep water. Probably came within 2 ft of running into my son.
