When you see “Old Glory” waving in the breeze, know that it is the dying breaths of our fallen hero’s that makes it wave.

That’s the biggest blue I have ever seen pulled from the surf in S.C. Fantastic catch Mr. Parker:smiley:
Cool
Ya know, it must be nice living in Neverneverland. Remind me to come visit you, when I need a break from reality.
Nice Hatteras Blue, gotta be around 9-12lbs. Did you catch it off cut bait?
Thanks for the comments fellas. Have caught tons of them in the surf and from boats, for sure the biggest I’ve ever seen in person. State record is 21lbs. This one had the length but was pretty thin. I guess mabe 12-15? Full of roe though still light I’m sure. Very very strong fish, had to crank down on that Zebco drag, still made many strong runs with jumps and spins. Wore itself out. Took several minutes to revive, swam off like a rocket.

Yes, chunk of Whiting.
My question of the day was answered. Took the skiff to Botany Bay today with the Mrs. and went for a nice long beach walk. Saw several schools of fish in 2-3 feet of water. They appeared to be 5-10 lb spanish mackeral, bluefish, or Ladyfish, but couldn’t get a positive ID.

Was another slow weekend. Fished Sat. AM only 2 Whiting and a small Ray, spot was not the best. Scouted up the beach and found a better looking area. Sun. didn’t get out untill just about low tide. 12:30? The Blue was the only BITE. There were 2 or 3 other nice sized Blues chasing it in. We headed home around 3:30, got a hungry spot. There was someone fishing north of me about 5-6 blocks? Looked like a couple of Sharkers, they left shortly after I got set up.
Awesome catch!
Wow that’s nice. goodnjob d
nice blue. we caught one sunday offshore in 90’. ours was long and thin too. putting the filets in the smoker tomorrow.

Nice blue Mr. Parker.
Are you soaking your cut bait with a fishfinder or drum rig? I assume so, what oz. weight are you using on average to hold bottom?
