Few pics of my last trip out. Had one on that broke my steel leader is half also. I got about 20 bluefish also. Didn’t see anyone catch a thing besides reel tight next to me in the morning. I couldn’t keep the blues away and got a decent red bite through the day.
I couldn’t buy a fish Sunday I’m beginning to get mildly frustrated
Are you reeling your baits in and rebaiting frequently. I rebaiting all 3 of my rods every 10-15 min with new bloody bait if I don’t see any action.
Yes I do re bait frequently mainly because my 7 year old likes to real them in lol. I think the problem was a combination of location and time of day. I was south of the first rockpile from 11am till three pm, I didn’t se anyone catch anything the entire time to either side.
Yeah Sunday just felt different walking out on the beach. The wind was blowing the ocean and the was a little rough. When we walked out Saturday morning we knew it was going to be a good day. That spot you were in on Sunday…there must be a good trough or hole or something right there as that’s where we were on Saturday and we caught a big bull, and had one break us off as well plus the blues.

I was also out there Sunday and got to see Steveo in action (photo cred for that last photo).
I fished up the beach just a bit with mullet chunks with no luck. Fished up close for blues too and only one or two hits which I was surprised at.
This is the first time I’ve been able to get out for this fall run. How much longer do you all anticipate we have to get on them?

I’m no expert but this time last year I was bundled up with warm clothes on cold. So I suspect the run will last longer then it did last year. My guess is all the way till the end of November. Looking back at my records last year November 15th was the last trip I caught a redfish. My monster 47 incher. I fished 2 weeks after that with no reds and just whiting and sharpnoses and other small sharks.
