Another Rough Weekend

Fished Mt Pleasant Pier Saturday from 9am to 8pm and Sunday from 845am to 8pm. Fished staight up mussels all day Saturday and didn’t catch a thing. I did lose two baits though. Fished mussels Sunday until I saw a couple flounder, reds, and trout caught then switched over to mud minnows. I only managed to catch one blue crab and a dogfish. Fairly nice weather both days, just a little breezy. I must not be holding my mouth right or something. Sorta feels like I’m jinxed.

Anybody doing any good at the Folly Beach Pier lately? Might have to go and try out there this week. Another hour of daylight after work might make it worth it.

Was at Mt Pleasant Pier Sunday also fished from about 9:30 to 6:30. Fished with mussels also had about the same results. Did manage to caught a few spots and two very small sheeps. Keep one spot and used for cut bait. Caught a skate. Guess you had to be in right spot at right time, with right bait. Shure was a pretty string of fish though.

I’ve seen you out there Jerry. I fished beside you a couple weeks ago out at the end of the pier to the left. I’m still trying to get my first keeper sheep. Heck I’ll take whatever bites now. I’ve decided to take a week off and head to GA to do some tournament carp fishing for a little change of gears. I’ve never gone this long targeting a certain species and not producing. My wife doesn’t think I’m even fishing anymore.

Brad, have you tried any where else for the sheeps ??

No, not really. I wanted to try Folly beach pier but that’s a 30 minute ride for me. Other than those two I don’t know any other places to try.

Hey brad have you hear of pit street. Mostly hit or miss for me. but you will hear about it on this forum. Takes time to learn a pier just like learning where to fish in boat. Wish I could say I know Mt. Pleasant pier, but I am just begining to lean myself.

I have, Jerry. I plan on visiting all piers here when the water warms up a little more. Pitt st sounds like a pretty good place to catch some flounder. I’m beginning to understand it takes some time to learn the piers here. They are way different that FL piers. I’ll get the hang of it eventually, just got to put some time in and learn the ends and outs and do’s and don’ts. I love a good challenge and just enjoy fishing in general. Doesn’t really matter if I catch anything or not.

Brad, I will take ya down to Pitt St one day if you want, or I should say meet you down there, I enjoy going down there early when the tide is right …

I roll outta bed around 5 and open every weekend except this weekend. I’m down for any fishing, anywhere.

Alright, I will wait until it warms up … what I like about Pitt St is you can usually catch fish, and bait is plentiful
