My parents are visiting from out of town next week and I would really like to get my dad on some fish. Any reports from the Mt Pleasant pier or Folly?
There’s a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

I’ve been out to North Folly 5-10 times this past month. It’s been very slow fishing. Hopefully warmer water soon!
Cold, wind, rain…more cold, wind, rain…ICE? It has been a horrible winter season. And the surf temp is COLD! Most mornings 47-48 deg. The days are getting longer, hopefully the water temp will at least hit 50. I plan to get out this comming up weekend. Lately it has been very slow.
“If it were catching, Everyone would be good at it.”
Walked down folly pier the other and there was a man who said he has been fishing there pretty consistently and that it has been slower than usual these past few weeks. Though he said he does average about 3 sharks a day, and he was out there for 3 hrs and had 1 hit and caught 1 shark when I talked to him. The end of the pier looks about 3 ft deep at low tide, in the 90’s it was 22, the beach is covered with broke shells, rocks from the old artificial reef, and looked the worst I have seen it in my lifetime, and it made the was a solid foot bigger by the pier.
17ft Key west
The broke shells are from the recent beach renourishment. It looks really bad since then
