I always shrimp in the day, btodag. I was out this afternoon…but wind had sound white-capping with 2 ft swells coming in from ocean to boot. Caught 1/2 cooler, but it was hard to stand up and throw the net.
I usually shrimp the incoming…starting an hour more or less after dead low.
Wildlife…I think I saw you out there. I was in the carolina skiff w/T top. Ya it got to bumpy
. 1st time shrimping and got a couple of quarts of med. and lg. Which is good for me since I’m still
learning to throw a net and my handmedown poles suck.
Went to Creeks of Beaufort last night for some shrimp. We did cooler out, However it took a long time to clean them and bagg them up because they were small. we were home by 9:30 pm. the shrimp were on the small size. 50 count to the pound or more. We did have some large ones mixed in the catch but only a few QRTS. But I just have to say, I spent 25 years land locked in Northwest Georgia. This is a beautiful place to live. its truly a paridise for the nature lover. Here are a few photos of last night. What a great sunset. I will try again Saturday night. I’m not sure were to go now? I just cant find any large shrimp? Hopefully the shrimp will grow up some before the end of the season. Any Enjoy the photos.

went to trask landing dont know the name of the area, but where everybody sets up, put polls n at 8 waited till round 10 tide had dropped pretty well put first run of bait out shrimp were there but not thick.run bout 3 passes with my brother thrown the net hes prety slow at getn ready so bout 12 tide was low, we waited bout hour and re bated bout 2 the shrimp got thick and we loaded the cooler. i think they are the best on the rising tide.
We tried Thursday night at the mouth of the Morgan. Alot of boats there. We did ok until the wind picked up. We moved to the Coosaw and finished with 3/4 nice sized shrimp. Amazing, we caught most at high tide.
Thanks for the report. Went again at pigione point on Monday night the 22nd on a dropping tide. 7 poles 21 bait balls and 2 hours later we had 29 shrimp and a heineken buzz. Oh Well. 2 more weeks…

Curt,
The shrimp were nice size at the Morgan and Coosaw. The quantities just were not what I would have liked. You have to work for 1/2 to 3/4 unless they really come in thick. Of course, in the big blow coming up this weekend 1/2 cooler sounds great.
