Any Shrimp reports yet?

I was just wondering if anyone in the beaufort area has had any success shrimp baiting yet.
I’m new to this. Got all my stuff and ready to go. The other forums are talking about not much shrimp being caught yet.

Understood it was less than pleasant. None at all.

Fishing for the FUN of it!

I heard last night at Lands End was zilch…nada. However, G8rnsc & I coolered out during daytime with really nice shrimp in St. Helena Sound.

Thanks Wildlife. I’m gonna try near Lucy Creek… I’ll let you know

Ten quarts of peanut shrimp in Trenchards Saturday night. I do not want to return there until it picks up a bit.

We went opening night and caught 10 shrimp. Pretty bad. Not sure if it was the high tide or what but I have never seen it that bad.

There aren’t any shrimp left cause I caught em all already…

Broad Creek on Hilton Head west of Palmetto Bay Rd has plenty of shrimp. We fished many of the feeder creeks last week and we had no trouble finding bait. Most are small bait size to maybe 50 ct size but they are in there thick!

Wishing all of you tight lines and screaming drags.

Got another full cooler today in St. Helena on the rising tide. 7 passes on 8 poles. Not thick, but good until the tide got way up. Mixed sizes…mostly medium and large with a handful of small and a good number of ex large too.

Thanks wildlifesc. I’m going offshore tomorrow…will try St Helena for shrimp asap

Skunked at Lands end. Went last night we caught 12 shrimp. Thats right 12. 1 dozen. Great night, just no shrimp.

Cpt. Curt, what’s up with the shrimp at Lands End and Lemon Island? Usually, at the beginning of the season those spots are great.

Had a buddy from here in Greenwood slay them in a few passes over on HHI, up behind Daws. Said he threw a 6 footer 3 passes, his newbie buddy threw it 50/50 for 2 more trying to learn. The last pass they dropped all of their extra bait at one pole, came back around and swears he had 200+ in the net.

It was one of those nights to dream about.

I got 1 cooler so far in the Beaufort river at Pigeon point they were small. No luck at Lemon, DAW, Lands End? I am going to north Beaufort will try St Helena at the point of Morgan? Maybe its too early? I caught a lot way up the creeks and they had good size? Maybe I will find some for the freezer befor time runs out?

btodag,
That’s the first good report I have heard from Daws. Most folks I know are not catching many there, either.

It is what he says… I wasn’t there but I believe him.

Hurts my feelings that Lands End reports have noted it was so slow lately. That’s one of my go to’s. Be down again Friday with another newbie and a really late at night tide.

You shrimp in the day over there? The tide is going to be rough to get a dark low this weekend.
