DNR was supposed to start sending letters out the first week of July regarding alligator tag apps.

Called last week and they said they were going out this week…four of us got nothing yet, maybe today’s the day. 
That extra $3.00 processing fee has really helped expedite things. 
my cousin just got his notification today and he got a tag. I’m in Lake Wylie and haven’t received anything yet. I have 3 years worth pref points so hopefully I’ll get one.
got my tag today, first one ever , zone 1. Anyone give me some tips on where to look for some gators. just general spots.

Does anyone know if you can find your pref point count somewhere? I’m not so sure I trust the DNR databases
Lets keep this thread for if you got a tag and how many preference points you had coming in. Start a different thread if you need help or tips
only my second year applying for a tag. I dont know where to find points on the letter. I dont see any reference to it. But we are excited to be able to get one.

Did not get mind this year. My understanding on the points is if you miss a year you lose your points and have to start over. Thats what the letter I got said. Maybe next year.

Got mine with 1 pref point this year. I am surprised cause a got tag 2011 with no points as well.
Got mine, I had 2 points going into the draw
Our group had one person with two points and he got a tag. One person with one point got a tag. Two of us with no points (we got tags last year) did not get a tag. We’re still waiting on one guy who had one point to see if he got a tag. Pee Dee zone is our first choice and that’s where the tags are for the two we got this year.

The guy with 1 preference point did not get a tag. Now he’ll have 2 points for next years draw. We’ll have two people with 2 points next year and two people with 1 point each. I try to keep the same group hunting together so hopefully at least one of us gets a tag. The plan is working so far.
