Anyone gigged around Palmetto Bay

Just curious about the Palmetto Bay area…Been in St. Helena for ever but recently got a house off of Mathews Dr. at Folly Field beach. Not trying to take anyone’s spot just curious of which boat landing I should start out at. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Sent you a PM. I just know about the usual public launches; not sure about the ones that might be more conducive to floundering. There is a small boat ramp right around the corner from you off Marshland Rd. There is no pier, just a ramp. From Mathews, turn on Marshland. Ramp is on the left just before you get to Old Oyster Factory.

If you’re lucky enough to be fishing, you’re lucky enough.

You can use either Alljoy in Bluffton, with limited parking, the landing between the bridges to Hilton Head is pretty good except for the traffic coming ang going on 278. There is a landing under the cross island bridge just a stones throw from Palmetto Bay Marina with good parking.

Thanks…I keep the boat at folly field beach but was just trying to find a good starting point with limited boat traffic and some possible gigging banks. Thanks for all the help

Good advice above . Gigging probably best leaving from landing on Pickney Island ( right before main bridge to island) Good areas around pickney island . Have not had much luck in Broad Creek, where the Marshland Road ( tough to use at dead low)and Palmetto Bay boat landings are located. If you want to travel a little way , Alljoy good access to May River spots which has many good areas ( I do not know any of them, but others do so I know they are out there.) Good chance to explore lots of new grounds.Good Luck!
