We just finished our first ever vacation on Edisto Island and fished just about every day last week. We rented a slip at the marina so with the added expense we decided to chase the fish on our own(no guide). What a pretty place with lots of creeks, oyster bars, etc. We didn’t catch much-a few trout but had a great time. The wind was tough. Would find a place one day that had good conditions and the next it was a mudhole. We caught our few fish in warm water(67-68 degrees) that was clear. I say clear. Clear as could be found in the conditions. Caught on gulp shrimp under a popping cork. Had to let it sit and just jiggle it every now and then to get them to hit it. Had several hit it and let go. Fished mainly the creeks off the St. Pierre, Otter Island creeks, and a few creeks off the ICW. Thanks to all that offered advice and suggestions before we went.
